Our purpose is to give everyone real confidence to put their money to work. With a heritage dating back more than 175 years, we have a long history of innovation in savings and investments, combining asset management and insurance expertise to offer a wide range of solutions.

Our two distinct operating segments, Asset Management and Life, work together to provide access to balanced, long-term investment and savings solutions. Through telling it like it is, owning it now, and moving it forward together with care and integrity; we are creating an exceptional place to work for exceptional talent. We will consider flexible working arrangements for any of our roles and also offer workplace accommodations to ensure you have what you need to effectively deliver in your role.

We are looking for a Digital Data & Consent Lead to own how digital data is collected, permitted and governed across M&G Life digital marketing platforms. This role is focused on digital data at source – websites, cookie consent, tags, pixels and ingestion into marketing platforms. It is not a data science, modelling or BI role. The purpose is to ensure digital data is compliant, secure, well‑governed and fit for use before it flows into Marketo and downstream reporting.

You will sit between Digital, Data, Enterprise Security, Privacy and Governance, acting as the clear owner of digital consent and tagging, and as a product owner for digital‑originating data flows. A key part of the role is partnering closely with Privacy colleagues to interpret legislation and regulatory guidance, and translate this into clear, user‑appropriate consent experiences and operational practices (for example, banner wording, cookie categorisation and consent models). This role is suited to an experienced professional who combines hands‑on digital implementation expertise with strong governance judgement, and who can lead cross‑functional delivery without line management responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end‑to‑end cookie consent and tagging compliance model across M&G Life websites using OneTrust.
  • Work in close partnership with Privacy to interpret cookie consent legislation and regulatory guidance, and operationalise this through:
    • Consent banner wording and user journey design
    • Cookie and tag categorisation (e.g. strictly necessary, functional, analytics, marketing)
    • Consent models and preference management
  • Act as the digital authority on what data can be collected under which consent conditions, partnering with Privacy, Risk and Legal.
  • Own the operating model for digital tags and pixels, including governance through CSP controls and the Ensighten framework.
  • Define and maintain clear processes for tag requests, privacy and security assessment, deployment, testing and ongoing hygiene.
  • Act as product owner for key digital‑to‑data pipelines, including:
    • Website event and interaction data
    • Integration into Marketo
    • Downstream feeds into reporting teams and data products
  • Work closely with the Life Data team to prioritise backlogs, agree outcomes and ensure digital data is reliable, usable and trusted.
  • Provide subject‑matter leadership on compliant, scalable digital data implementation and support change impact assessments across websites, consent tooling and MarTech platforms.

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Hands‑on experience implementing and managing website analytics, tags and pixel implementations in a regulated environment.
  • Practical experience of cookie consent management, ideally using OneTrust.
  • Experience working alongside Privacy or Legal teams to interpret consent legislation and translate it into live digital implementation and operations.
  • Good understanding of CSP, tag management and enterprise web security, with experience partnering with security or engineering teams.
  • Experience owning or leading digital‑originating data flows (for example website or marketing data).
  • Confidence working across Digital, Data, Technology, Privacy and Governance stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience with Marketo or similar marketing automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Analytics or similar web analytics tools.
  • Experience working in UK financial services, insurance or another highly regulated sector.

What success looks like

  • M&G Life websites consistently demonstrate robust, auditable consent and tagging compliance.
  • Clear, trusted processes exist for tags, pixels and vendors, understood across Marketing, Technology, Security and Privacy.
  • Digital data flowing into Marketo and reporting platforms is reliable, well‑owned and continuously improving.
  • The role is recognised as the go‑to authority for digital data and consent foundations across M&G Life.
