We are looking for an experienced Digital Account Director to work closely with two of our clients, within the banking and professional services sectors. For our banking client, the Digital Account Director leads the team to create powerful and impactful digital experiences across their website, including the incorporation of AI (tools, search on site, site discoverability etc). The role delivers an exceptional level of creative and strategic thinking as well as client service. They also have an active role in new business opportunities to lead growth and ensure the smooth running of every development project end to end, from scoping through to final release.
For our professional services client, in 2025 we built and delivered a new, ‘best‑in‑class’ website to showcase their new brand and consolidate multiple sites into one easy to use site hosted on Umbraco. The role involves working collaboratively with the client and the Development team to prioritise, manage, and deliver the backlog of UI and UX modifications and enhancements to the site, as well as sharing recommendations and best‑practice suggestions.
The Digital Account Director develops and builds strong relationships with clients at a senior level, becoming a trusted and valued advisor to the client teams. They will be responsible for managing the team shape, ensuring the right experts are in place for the client requirements. Reporting to the Business Director on each client, the Digital Account Director oversees a team of three developers and other digital delivery experts including project managers, data analysts, designers, and experience planners. There will also be the opportunity to support the overarching account teams on AI projects from time to time, in particular AI enabled build.
WHAT IS REQUIRED
- Work in true collaboration with our clients and partner agencies and be responsible for quality delivery of technical projects to ensure that the client experience is as positive as possible.
- Take overall financial control of accounts, including profitability, accuracy of forecasting, late payment, as well as fee negotiation, providing regular and timely reports to the client.
- Own the execution of projects, run rates and client satisfaction through catchups with Technical Delivery Manager running through the weekly account/project management WIP.
- Collaborating with department heads/leads on approach, scoping and estimating for projects.
- Ensure clear comms with the client on technical projects, drive agendas, and ensure delivery of agreed timings and objectives.
- Able to identify risks and have a solution‑based approach to handling challenges.
- Working alongside the Resource Manager to proactively allocate and manage resource for upcoming projects.
- Accountable for the delivery of growth targets for the account.
- Escalation point if the client or internal SLAs and processes are not adhered to, or where there are process gaps.
- Negotiate to create win‑win compromises with your client on behalf of your team members where needed.
- Identify new business opportunities through relationships, introducing The BrandTech capabilities where appropriate.
- Working in a team of 7-10. 0 direct reports.

- Financial responsibility of up to £1-2m.

- First‑rate communications skills, with the ability to be articulate in person and in writing and strong presentation skills with an innate rapport build.
- Strong knowledge and experience with website builds.
- Comfortable with the agile process.
- A clear understanding of all BrandTech Group products and how to utilise this knowledge to the accounts advantage.
- Understanding of how to integrate with a client‑side team whilst maintaining a top tier agency service.
- Highly creative with the ability to generate ideas and practically contribute to studio output.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other related software.
ESSENTIALS
- Experience in a regulated sector.
- Experience working with website products such as Umbraco CMS.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in: Digital Web Design UX‑UI.
- Experience in AI preferable, an interest/passion for AI required.
