About the Role

Are you a data-driven marketer with a passion for high-quality journalism? Harmsworth Media is looking for a CRM Executive to join our team. In this role, you will be at the heart of the growth strategy for two of the UK's most respected titles: New Scientist and The I Paper. You will be responsible for executing a multi-channel strategy that touches every part of the subscriber journey - from the moment they onboard to long-term retention and win-back. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with 1-2 years of experience to leverage a world-class CRM platform and deliver truly personalised customer experiences.

Main Responsibilities

  • Strategic Execution & Automation
    • Support the Head of CRM in delivering our overarching roadmap
    • Audit and evolve automated lifecycle programs, including welcome series, renewals, and win-back flows
    • Partner with internal data teams to identify segmentation opportunities and maintain database hygiene
    • Manage a rolling A/B test plan to ensure every touchpoint is optimised for conversion
  • Campaign Management
    • Own the end-to-end production process: from creative ideation to technical deployment
    • Platform Expert: Build and deploy sophisticated campaigns within Sailthru, utilising its full suite of automation and personalisation tools
    • Ensure all tracking and technical triggers are flawlessly implemented
  • Insights & Reporting
    • Analyse performance using Google Analytics and Sailthru reporting tools
    • Translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, and Editorial
    • Proactively manage email deliverability, rendering, and technical troubleshooting
  • Quality & Compliance
    • Build high-value audience segments based on real-time user behaviour and intent
    • Act as the final "quality gatekeeper", ensuring all communications are on-brand, technically perfect, and mobile-optimised
    • Ensure all activity remains strictly compliant with GDPR and data privacy regulations

About You

Experience & Technical Skills:

  • 1-2 years in a dedicated CRM or Email Marketing role
  • Experience with Sailthru is a significant advantage (though we will consider experience in Braze, HubSpot, or similar)
  • A basic understanding of HTML/CSS for troubleshooting email templates
  • Proficient in Google Analytics and Excel for data manipulation
