A Day in Your Life at MKS: As an Associate Accountant at MKS Instruments UK Limited in Crewe, you will partner with the UK Finance team to support accurate financial accounting, reporting, and month‑end close activities across multiple legal entities. In this role, you will report to the Senior Accountant and play a key role in ensuring continuity and stability during a cover period. This job is a short term contract to begin as soon as possible until end of September 2023 (hybrid mode).

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Preparing and posting accounting journals including accruals, prepayments, deferred income, VAT, FX, and standard journals
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner
  • Supporting month‑end close activities across multiple UK legal entities
  • Providing hands‑on support for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including customer and supplier queries and payment preparation
  • Managing intercompany reconciliations, cross‑charges, netting, and goods‑in‑transit accruals
  • Supporting P&L reviews, management reporting, cashflow reporting, and VAT preparation

Skills You Bring:

  • Formal Education: AAT qualified / part‑qualified, or equivalent accounting experience
  • Experience: Relevant accounting experience in a general ledger / month‑end focused role
  • Strong hands‑on experience with general ledger accounting and month‑end close
  • Practical AR, AP, and intercompany accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyse financial data
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage competing priorities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a multinational or multi‑entity finance environment
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Prior interim or fixed‑term contract experience in a finance function
