What You’ll Do At Elekta

The Senior Legal Counsel is an emerging professional with demonstrated expertise in (1) sophisticated transactional matters, including negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts; (2) general corporate legal and business matters; and (3) litigation management.

The Senior Legal Counsel serves as a trusted advisor to various functions and participates in local and global projects.

This position may mentor attorneys at the Legal Counsel level.

Responsibilities

• Advises assigned clients on legal issues;
• Interacts with senior leadership on key corporate transactions by providing prompt, practical, and commercially oriented advice;
• Handles complex commercial contracting matters, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts across business areas;
• Manages litigation, arbitration, settlement negotiations, and outside legal resources;
• Assists with acquisitions, divestitures, and restructurings;
• Collaborates on legal and risk management strategies for assigned business units;
• Develops and implements best practices, forms, templates, and training materials to streamline transactional processes;
• Acts as a resource and mentor for other team members;
• Performs other related duties as assigned by senior management;
• Develops and provides training to business clients.
• What You’ll Bring
• English law qualified lawyer
• 6+ years PQE
• Strong negotiation, oral and written communication, presentation, training, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and lead with strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, including creative problem solving in transactional matters
• Experience with sophisticated commercial transactions; drafting and negotiating complex contracts
• Experience managing litigation and outside counsel
• General understanding of laws and regulations relating to patient/data privacy, corporate compliance, anti-corruption, and anti-competition
• Knowledge of the Medical Device Industry and regulatory knowledge (FDA, MDR) is a plus
• Broad knowledge of general business, contract, and commercial law
