We are seeking a commercially minded Contracts Manager to support the business with the drafting, review and negotiation of a range of commercial agreements. This is a mid-level role requiring the ability to work with a good degree of independence, alongside appropriate guidance and escalation. Working within a lean legal function, you will partner with the Head of Legal and key stakeholders to manage a varied contracts workload and support commercial objectives. This role would suit someone looking to further develop their in‑house experience within a supportive legal function.
The role offers exposure to a broad range of commercial and legal matters, with direct visibility of how legal considerations support business decision‑making. You will work closely with the Head of Legal, gaining insight into legal risk management and the wider legal and compliance function. There will be opportunities to take on increasing responsibility over time as experience develops.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Commercial Contracting
- Draft, review and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, customer agreements, NDAs and standard terms.
- Manage a varied portfolio of contracts, including some more complex agreements, with guidance where needed.
- Ensure contracts are completed in a timely manner and aligned to business objectives.
- Identify risks and escalate non‑standard or higher‑risk contractual issues to the Head of Legal as appropriate.
- Legal Advisory
- Provide legal input and support to stakeholders on contract‑related queries.
- Support teams across Sales, Commercial, Marketing, IT and Finance to facilitate deal execution.
- Assist with queries relating to contractual obligations and risk.
- Compliance and Data Protection
- Provide support on compliance and data protection matters as required by the Head of Legal.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate records and processes where needed.
- Templates, Processes and Contract Management
- Maintain and support development of contract templates, playbooks and processes.
- Assist with contract lifecycle management including tracking, renewals and record keeping.
- Support continuous improvement of contract processes.
