Responsibilities
- Partner with the Area Manager to build business opportunities and achieve company standards/goals: sales and wage budgets, sales per hour (SPH), units per transaction (UPT), conversion (hit) rate, wage and expense control, shrinkage, mystery shops, store audits and profitability.
- Identify opportunities and collaborate with others to grow the business or improve performance.
- Consistently foster a positive store experience by treating all customers and staff members fairly and consistently.
- Perform Manager‑on‑Duty functions; manage store opening/closing and the sales floor.
- Ensure “door‑to‑floor” best practices, visual merchandising directives and standards for the sales floor and back room are executed; continually review standards to maintain clarity and consistency.
- Manage daily sales, payroll, controllable expenses, goals, and company initiatives, aligning activities to meet business targets.
- Analyze store‑level reports and create action plans to improve results.
- Lead weekly management meetings and other staff meetings; participate in regional meetings.
- Set challenging but attainable goals with an emphasis on service quality, customer satisfaction and financial performance.
- Coordinate action plans, considering consequences and budget decisions.
- Communicate daily with staff on individual sales goals, KPIs, product sales and other information to help them deliver unparalleled service and achieve targets.
- Assist in manpower planning, identification, recruitment, interviewing, hiring and orientation processes, recruiting store personnel with diverse perspectives, experiences and backgrounds.
- Own the training and development of employees; ensure proper orientation and role‑specific training.
- Provide daily, weekly and monthly training and coaching for employees, ensuring appropriate documentation.
About You
- Extensive experience in connecting to consumers in a brand retailer is essential.
- Experience with retail operations, budgeting, planning, sales and people management.
- Previous people‑management experience and act with purpose to resolve conflict and unproductive disagreements.
- Effective communicator with the ability to cultivate belonging.
- Collaborate to win and recognize and celebrate contributions and achievements of others.
