An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for a Coach Builder/ Accident Repairer to join Arriva, based at our Repair centre in Derby Depot. The Coach Builder will carry out effective repairs and planned maintenance to all company vehicles ensuring that all repairs are to the DETR guidelines and to those of the company’s Standard Maintenance Policy. On completion of repairs to ensure that all company vehicles are in a safe and roadworthy condition for all concerned.

The role of a Coach Builder will involve:
- Ensuring the safety, well-being and comfort of all persons using and travelling on the Company’s vehicles, and other road users and pedestrians.
- Ensuring that repairs carried out are to DETR and company standards and conform to all legislation.
- Ensuring that all repairs are carried out effectively and economically as possible.
- Possessing a valid driving licence sufficient to test all relevant company vehicles on the public highway.
- Ensuring that Safe Working practices are adhered to, and that Health and Safety of all staff is paramount.
- To carry out all engineering functions applicable to scope of job title.
- To minimise repair costs in every way possible.
- To carry out effective repairs keeping engineering lost mileage to a minimum.
- To be flexible and prepared, by joint agreement, to work at other locations within the company on a temporary basis should the need arise.
Requirements of a Coach Builder:
- You will be qualified and have prior experience in a PSV vehicle workshop environment as a body builder / coach maker.
- You will be a motivated team player, who can work effectively unsupervised and use your own initiative to solve problems.
- In our business, safety of our customers must not be compromised, therefore induction and development will be provided.
