About the Role

As the Client Strategy Director for Finance, Business and Charities, you will be responsible for defining and executing the long‑term commercial strategy for our most significant Tier 1 accounts and your wider category. This is a senior role and you will leverage category expertise, audience insights, and our extensive product portfolio to position dmg media as an essential partner to clients. This is a highly strategic, commercially astute role that thrives at the intersection of data, multi‑channel creativity, and client partnership.

This new role will:

  • Develop deep and influential Tier 1 client & agency planning relationships, positioning dmg as a must‑buy media owner, to drive incremental revenue.
  • Develop long‑term annual strategies for Tier 1 clients, leveraging category, product expertise & audience insights across all titles and brands.
  • Lead proactive presentations & thought‑leadership sessions to unlock commercial growth.
  • Strengthen our reputation as a trusted partner to direct clients & their agencies, leading the ongoing revitalisation of our account service model to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
  • Champion our innovative data‑enriched digital solutions in market that generate meaningful outcomes for our advertising customers, as well as respect the value of our printed media to deliver outcomes.
  • Lead our commercial transformation toward a strategic, client‑focused, full‑funnel organisation - balancing short‑term revenue delivery with long‑term value creation.
  • Collaborate closely with our Creator & New Media (social video) and Commerce team to best serve our core advertising customers with market‑leading solutions.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships and the Core Sales team to ensure that the quality servicing and output for Tier 1 clients is delivered.
  • Deliver and report on all client engagement, delivering robust pipeline management and performance tracking in Salesforce for all allocated T1 clients relationships.
  • Lead and develop the Client Strategy Partners into leaders of the future.

Main Responsibilities

  • Tier 1 Relationship Management: Build and nurture deep-rooted relationships with senior decision‑makers at Tier 1 agencies and clients, ensuring dmg media is central to their strategic planning.
  • Revenue Growth: Identify and unlock new commercial opportunities by translating audience trends and platform innovations into revenue‑generating partnerships, while managing pipelines and delivering against strict targets.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop comprehensive, long‑term media strategies for Tier 1 accounts, leveraging category‑specific expertise, audience insights, and our extensive product portfolio to meet complex client objectives.
  • Thought Leadership: Lead proactive presentations and thought‑leadership sessions that demonstrate dmg media’s market‑leading innovation in social video, data capabilities, and digital storytelling.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Act as a strategic bridge between commercial, editorial, data, and product teams to ensure client strategies are flawlessly executed and drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Talent development: Management of the client strategy partner.

  • Client Network: A black book of senior client contacts in the Finance category.
  • Commercial Acumen: Proven track record in turning media strategy into tangible commercial solutions, while delivering growth strategies in a competitive market.
  • Multi‑channel solution selling: Expertise in delivering multichannel solutions and connecting the customer journey.
  • Pricing & yield optimisation: Strong understanding of commercial models and maximizing inventory value.
  • Data analytics & insights: Ability to leverage data to inform strategy and deliver powerful insights.
  • Digital fluency: Comfort and proficiency with ad tech, data platforms and social media platforms.
