About you and the Role

Reporting to the Head of Special Projects, the Claims Associate Director will be responsible for leading individual projects, assigned based on availability, expertise and relevant capabilities. You will be the key liaison with the Enstar M&A team and transaction actuarial team and will assist on due diligence reviews for Enstar’s M&A activity. You will also act as the key liaison with the Enstar claims and reinsurance teams as required by particular projects.

What you will be doing

  • Ensuring that all work relating to assigned projects is completed on time and to the necessary standard.
  • Review of information provided by external parties regarding potential transactions to evaluate that transaction.
  • Responding to queries that may be raised by the other areas of due diligence (M&A financial and Actuarial).
  • Drafting reports (or sections of reports) regarding findings of the assigned projects under the direction of Head of Special Projects.
  • Supervising junior staff.
  • In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.
  • Agility and flexibility to react to business requirements/priorities.
  • Essential to be able to work individually and within a team.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with internal policies and procedures and applicable law, rules, regulation, good governance and Enstar’s shared values, including putting clients at the heart of our business.
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and trends by reviewing publications, attending seminars, participating in meetings, etc.
  • Mentor Cranmore staff, as required.
  • Act with integrity, due skill, care and diligence.

What You Will Bring

  • Ideally, 10 to 15 years’ claims handling experience.
  • Knowledge of Lloyd’s and Company market delegated authority market.
  • A broad technical experience in the (re)insurance industry including both London and international markets.
  • Experience in due diligence reviews.
  • Experience in claim/exposure reviews.
  • A demonstrable technical knowledge in the (re)insurance industry (e.g. underwriting, claims, wordings, Coverholder and Third-Party Administration compliance and/or technical support).
  • Knowledge and experience of a broad range of insurance lines of business (workers compensation, US casualty, property, Fin Pro etc).
  • Knowledge and experience of a broad range of reinsurance types and commutation agreements/negotiation.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (both written and oral).
  • Ability to work as part of a team and across functions within Enstar.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and multi-task.
  • Effective computer skills (Microsoft Office Products).
  • Results oriented and the ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • A willingness to travel (Travel within the UK and overseas).
