The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Production Planner, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Creating Production and Purchasing Schedules for area of responsibility to meet Service targets
  • Utilizing Supply Chain tools and processes to make data-driven decisions to improve Service, Cost, and Inventory
  • Identifying and leading cross functional projects across the business to effectively drive improvements in Service, Cost, and Inventory
  • Providing a high degree of analysis to support decision making
  • Publishing and presenting relevant metrics and results (ex. Aged Backlog, OTIF, NWI, etc.)
  • Analyzing Capacity to determine alignment with Requirements
  • Working closely with the Business to understand Customers and Forecasts
  • Working closely with Operations to ensure alignment to business requirements by setting and maintaining target Inventory and Lead Times
  • Actively managing working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve targets

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of logistics, planning, manufacturing, or supply chain experience in a private, public, government or military environment.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Supply Chain or Operations Management from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years combined experience in supply chain, planning, logistics, and/or manufacturing in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • ASCM (APICS) Certification
  • Experience with SAP
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite (especially Excel) experience

Work Location:

This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States.

Travel: May include up to 5% Domestic/International

The expected compensation range for this position is $96,557 - $118,014, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
