About Axis Communications
Axis Communications is a global leader in network video and surveillance technology, driven by a culture of innovation, inclusion, and purpose. We are a fast‑growing company committed to building diverse teams that reflect the global nature of our business — and we know that our people are our greatest competitive advantage. As we continue to scale, we are looking for a thoughtful, strategic Benefits Specialist to help us deliver an exceptional employee experience.
The Opportunity
Benefits are more than a line item — they are a powerful signal of how much a company values its people. As our Benefits Specialist, you will own and elevate the full benefits experience for our US employees, from day‑to‑day administration to long‑term strategy. You will serve as the trusted subject matter expert, ensuring our programs remain competitive, compliant, and truly meaningful to the people who depend on them. This is a high‑impact role for someone who is equally comfortable diving into plan design details and presenting data‑driven recommendations to leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Own Benefits Administration: Serve as the primary point of contact for all benefits programs, including health and welfare plans, 401(k) management and annual audit, and vendor and broker relationship management.
- Lead Open Enrollment: Drive the annual open enrollment process end to end — from system configuration and employee communications to post‑enrollment audits and corrections.
- Advise and Enhance: Evaluate and recommend enhancements to our benefits offerings through the lens of cost, quality, and operational efficiency, in partnership with service providers and internal HR stakeholders.
- Educate and Empower Employees: Develop and deliver clear, engaging benefits communications and educational resources so employees at every stage — including new hires — can confidently navigate and maximize their benefits.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular benefits audits, identify opportunities for improvement, and build action plans that support the company’s scalability and long‑term sustainability.
- Turn Data into Decisions: Generate and present benefits utilization reports, cost analyses, and benchmarking data to help leadership make informed, strategic decisions.
- Stay Ahead of the Curve: Monitor legislative changes, industry trends, and best practices, proactively recommending program adjustments to keep us compliant and competitive.
- Shape HR Policy: Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of HR policies, guidelines, and procedures that support a consistent and equitable employee experience.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of dedicated benefits administration experience, with a broader background in HR compliance, employment law, and employee relations.
- Thorough knowledge of benefits‑related laws and regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA.
- Proven experience managing vendor and broker relationships and leading the full open enrollment lifecycle.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret benefits utilization data, cost trends, and market benchmarking.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for translating complex benefits information into clear, accessible language.
- High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive employee information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; HRIS experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience with self‑funded health insurance.
- Experience with HSA implementation and administration.
- Familiarity with Workday or similar benefits administration platforms.
- PHR/SPHR, SHRM‑CP/SHRM‑SCP, or CEBS certification.
Salary Range: The approximate pay range for this role is $105K‑$115K annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as physical work location within the state.
What we offer:
