Catastrophe Modelling Developer

Location: London office.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance production catastrophe modelling tools, resolve incidents, perform root cause analysis.
  • Support development and drive innovation and automation in Catastrophe Modelling systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across geographic regions, sharing knowledge.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and work on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate findings and insights to Catastrophe Analysts, Actuaries, and Underwriting teams.
  • Stay current with industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of commercial full stack software development experience.
  • Broad programming skills and web API design/development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science or related field.
  • Proven experience in Catastrophe Modelling within the insurance industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global, multicultural environment.
