We are looking for experienced and ambitious PSV Mechanics to join Arriva, based at our Castleford and Selby depots. An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to join our Castleford and Selby garages as a Skilled PCV Engineer/Mechanic reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, whilst maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles.

The role of a PSV Mechanic will involve:

  • Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
  • Continuous improvement of vehicle standards.
  • MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
  • Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).
  • Attending roadside breakdowns.
  • Shift Work (Earlies /Lates/Weekends 5 out of 7).

Requirements of a PSV Mechanic:

  • Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ).
  • Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines.
  • Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary.
  • A PCV license is desirable but not necessary.
  • Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable.
