As a Technical Lead / Design Manager in our Transportation team, you’ll be pivotal in implementing ideas that shape the future of how we move. You’ll collaborate across new build, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works, from our largest, most high-profile to our more progressive and specialised. Our clients include Department for Infrastructure, National Transport Authority, Highways England and Local Authority councils across UK and Ireland. With such size, scope and scale, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to keep yourself challenged.
Your role:
- Providing technical guidance on highway infrastructure projects.
- Mentoring and coaching team members and taking responsibility for their technical development.
- Liaise with key clients and be capable of discussing design / technical solutions to stakeholders including technical and non-technical Clients.
- Liaising with Practice Managers, ensure that projects are sufficiently resourced.
- Delegating work to team members, programming deliverables and monitoring progress.
- Identify and respond to project commercial risks and opportunities.
- Support the business in work winning including representing the business at networking events, preparing bids and tenders and establish, maintain and develop relationships with existing and prospective internal and external clients.

- Able to demonstrate experience of developing strong and sustainable relationships with Clients, understanding their requirements and aspirations, and working effectively with them to achieve their objectives.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement.
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to build and motivate teams working across the practices.
- A hard working and flexible individual, who is a team player, is reliable, proactive and shows initiative whilst able to keep cool under pressure and when working to often demanding deadlines.
