Overview

About The Role: If you are passionate about service and have a smile to match, we are seeking a Guest Services Agent/Porter.

We are looking for an enthusiastic applicant who understands great guest service, teamwork and attention to detail.

A team player who enjoys the hospitality industry and wants to further their career.

This role covers different shifts during the week, weekends and public holidays.

You will need to be flexible to work all rostered days and preferably have a minimum of 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience.

This role requires porter duties from time to time and assisting in other areas of the hotel as needed.

This is a part-time role with a minimum of 20 hours per week, with an hourly rate of NZD 26.

Responsibilities

  • Check guests in and out in a timely manner and provide outstanding customer service.
  • Ensure smooth and welcoming Front Office service and guest satisfaction; liaise closely with Housekeeping to run day-to-day operations for both departments.
  • Protect guest and employee privacy and information.
  • Support achieving maximum occupancy and average rate under direction of the Duty Manager.
  • Follow security procedures for cash, guests’ personal possessions, and incident reports.
  • Follow emergency procedures to ensure safety of guests and team members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all room categories and hotel layouts.
  • Answer phone calls, action guest requests, and follow up with relevant departments.
  • Acknowledge VIP guests and provide appropriate service.
  • Know the surrounding area to provide accurate information on local amenities, transport, and emergency information.
  • Comply with all hotel policies and procedures and codes of conduct.

Requirements

  • Confident, well-motivated, enthusiastic and determined.
  • Available to work both AM and PM shifts, including weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; remains composed under pressure.
  • High standards of accuracy and organization; approachable and a team player.
  • Committed to continuing professional development.
  • A full driver’s license.
  • NZQF level 2 or 3 (ANZSCO Skill Level 4).
  • Or at least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
