CRFS is looking for a Project Manager who is a proactive leader and takes true ownership of our engineering projects, ensuring they move smoothly from initial concept to global delivery. You will be the primary point of accountability, bridging the gap between technical complexity and operational success.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Stewardship: Take responsibility for the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they meet CRFS’s high standards of excellence.
- Lead and Align: Drive project planning sessions and serve as the central coordinator for internal resources and third-party vendors.
- Proactive Management: Define and manage project scope, schedule, and cost. Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies before they impact delivery.
- Outcome-Focused Reporting: Track project performance and translate KPIs into meaningful progress reports for stakeholders, taking the lead on solving variances.
- Cross-Functional Integration: Facilitate clear, purposeful communication between Engineering, Product, and Commercial teams to ensure everyone is aligned with project goals.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure all deliverables comply with company processes while maintaining a high bar for engineering quality.
- Strategic Resource Planning: Manage and optimize resource allocation across multiple projects to ensure consistent progress across the engineering department.
Basic Requirements
- Proven Delivery: A successful track record of taking complex Engineering projects through the full lifecycle into Production.
- Project Governance: Practical experience in risk management, compliance, configuration management, and earned value management.
- Methodological Flexibility: A solid understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and how to apply them effectively.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities with an eye for detail and a focus on project health.
- Tools & Communication: Proficiency in MS Project and Jira, paired with the ability to manage diverse stakeholder expectations confidently.
Desirable
- Experience working in UK Armed Forces
- Experience delivering programs of record, preferably for UK MoD.
- Experience in RF or embedded systems industries.
- Professional Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
