Oliver Wyman is seeking an experienced Practice Manager (Business Impact Manager) for our Consumer, Technology and Telecoms (CTT) practice, to join our European Business Impact Team on a 6 month Fixed Term contract.
Please Note: Oliver Wyman/Marsh operates a hybrid working policy of at least 60% in-office attendance.
About the Role
The Europe Business Impact Team (BIT) supports the growth of Oliver Wyman Europe by seamlessly enabling regional business development and management activities. The Business Impact Manager is a central role in the strategic and commercial development, operation and community building of the Consumer, Technology and Telecommunications practice. Working alongside a Senior Business Impact manager, the role effectively orchestrates practice staff (Partners, affiliated consultants, specialists) and support provided by the infrastructure functions of Oliver Wyman (Human Capital, Finance, Marketing, Knowledge Services, …). The role provides support to the Regional Practice Head and in managing the day-to-day affairs of the practice and is a go-to-person for all colleagues for practice-related topics.
Note: Although the initial deployment of this Business Impact Manager role will be in support of our Consumer, Technology and Telecommunications practice, this deployment may change in the future according to business need.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Developing and leveraging trusted relationships with practice leadership and teams, as well as relevant infrastructure teams
- Managing or supporting recurring activities that are important to the long-term success and smooth day-to-day running of the practice
- Strategic topics, including Commercial activities, including Business operations, including
- Managing or supporting ad-hoc initiatives according to the needs of the practice
- Identifying and implementing improvements including in strategic, commercial or operational processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in day-to-day activities.
- Showing leadership within the Business Impact Team, leading key internal projects or initiatives and enabling the success of fellow members for example through participation in learning and development initiatives, best practice sharing etc.
- Providing coverage where needed
Who we are looking for:
The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of experience in professional services; experience at a leading management consulting firm highly desirable. Experience dealing with confidential and business critical issues. Quantitative skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (in particular Excel and PowerPoint), proficient user of generative AI tools in a business context. Fluency in English to enable effective communication (written and verbally) with Partners; further languages, especially French, would be helpful but are not required.
