We are looking for collaborative and motivated Building Safety Consultants to deliver a high-quality service for our clients. Our Building Safety Assurance service focuses on assisting designers with the Building Regulations Principal Designer role (both in-house and to our clients) and assisting clients to comply with their duties.
Your role:
- Advising and assisting clients and in-house teams in fulfilling their responsibilities under the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended) and the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Delivering the Building Regulations Principal Designer function for clients as set out in the Building Regulations 2010 (As Amended).
- Use your skills and knowledge to work with designers to review building regulations compliance in design and to help develop practical solutions in line with legislation and best practice.
- Responsible for delivering a broad range of Building Safety Consultancy services, including conducting building regulation compliance audits, performing site inspections, and reviewing building regulation submissions through gap analyses and plan appraisals to ensure all required information is provided for regulatory approval.
- Potential to deliver building regulation compliance training (internal and external).
- Learning and applying quality assurance principles.
- Keeping up to date and abreast of relevant legislative and best practice changes.
About you:
- Strong background interpreting and applying the building regulations and associated secondary legislation relating to projects, and a good understanding of the technical and functional requirements of the Building Regulations 2010.
- Sound technical Building Regulations knowledge combined with an understanding of design and construction and capable of delivering a solutions-focused service.
- Excellent stakeholder facing skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy, adopts a proactive approach with a willingness to seek guidance when appropriate, and is proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.
- Maintains a professional and inclusive manner and is able to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously.
- Relevant professional chartership/accreditation with either CABE, CIOB, RICS.
- An experience in a similar Building Safety/ building regulations compliance/design compliance role.
- Demonstrable understanding of construction and design.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
