UPS Security Investigator Specialist

We currently have a vacancy for a Security Investigator Specialist within the Security Department, covering the West Division. This is a full‑time role based in the West Division and requires a high degree of flexibility. As security operations at UPS run 24/7, the successful applicant must be prepared to work outside standard hours and respond to incidents when required, including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays. The role may also involve travel across the region and, on occasion, overnight stays, depending on operational requirements.

What you’ll do:

  • You will work 37.5 hours per week, where flexibility is essential.
  • Prevention of loss to our customers’ merchandise by assisting our operations in providing a quality service and ensuring safe transit through our network.
  • Auditing the implementation and adherence to operational and security processes and procedures within UPS Small Package, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics facilities and Healthcare facilities.
  • Safeguard our buildings and facilities, vehicles and assets through risk assessment, auditing and implementation of physical security measures.
  • Claim analysis, investigation and reporting of security‑related incidents and development of corrective action plans.
  • Lead and implement security‑focused projects.
  • Carry out thorough investigations whilst liaising with a variety of departments.

What you’ll need:

  • In depth knowledge of UPS / logistics operations preferable.
  • Educated to A‑level qualification is a minimum; educated to a university degree is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience within the logistics field is preferable.
  • Excellent working knowledge of computers; essentially Microsoft Word, Excel and e‑mail.
  • A full clean driving licence, current passport and ability to travel to any other country.
  • Organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • You must work with the highest level of discretion and integrity and maintain absolute confidentiality.
  • Previous work in a security investigator role is preferable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work non‑standard hours in line with 24/7 security operations.
  • Ability to respond to incidents at short notice.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight when necessary.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and reliability in sensitive situations.
