BDUK has a requirement to support a range of Technical Publications for the platform with both Aircraft Maintenance Manuals and Component Maintenance Manuals. The role will execute against contract requirements with a Safety and First Time Quality mindset within an integrated team environment.
The job role will encompass supporting the Publications Lead in day‑to‑day execution of publications and deliverables to meet contract requirements associated with publication discrepancy reports (MoD F765), generation of amendments, updates, review of technical support publications for grammatical errors, format and style per guidelines, and contribute to establishing standards and guidelines for technical document structure and format.
You will recommend content edits to improve clarity, impact, flow, meaning, and readability, and research source data to verify technical accuracy. Participation in reviews internally and with the customer, and maintenance of document configuration, data files, and archives are also required.
The successful candidate will support the Publications Lead to ensure First Time Quality is applied to all publication updates and compliance with the quality management system. The position may require interfacing between the customer and other stakeholders in the absence of the Publications Lead, so good communication skills are essential. Multitasking in a diverse teaming environment is required. Prior aviation maintenance experience is desirable and occasional travel may be required.
Key Skills Required- Conversant with ASD S1000D and/or AVP70.
- Experience working with Simplified Technical English.
- Understanding of Support Engineering in a maintenance environment.
- Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional departments to deliver outputs compliant with organisational processes and procedures.
- Focus on delivering first‑time quality with attention to detail and alignment with supporting engineering documentation.
- Previous experience in the Aviation Technical Publication Authoring environment is essential.
- The ability to obtain UK Security Clearance.
- Previous experience with MoD Form 765 processes is desirable.
- Previous experience liaising with internationally located teams, including Design Organization (DO) interface.
- Experience with creating graphics is desired but not essential.
This position requires the ability to obtain United Kingdom Security Check.
