Our Planning Function plays a critical role in delivering certainty and performance across sectors including Rail, Highways, Utilities, Nuclear, Defence and Aviation.
Your Role
As a Planner, you will help ensure the successful delivery of complex projects and programmes by providing high‑quality scheduling support and analysis. You will:
- Develop and maintain project schedules with clear structure, logic, dependencies and critical path.
- Support planning input across mobilisation and delivery phases, helping define scope and sequencing.
- Produce schedule updates, progress assessments, variance analysis and clear reporting.
- Assist with scenario modelling, constraints analysis and identification of schedule risks.
- Maintain baselines and support change control processes, ensuring schedule impacts are accurately reflected.
- Present schedule information clearly through both visual and written formats.
- Build collaborative working relationships with internal teams, clients and delivery partners.
- Apply understanding of project controls disciplines (cost, risk, commercial) to produce integrated outputs.
- Apply awareness of different contract types (NEC, JCT, FIDIC) and their planning and reporting implications.
- Work effectively within a consultancy environment, supporting client‑focused delivery.
About you
- Project‑based planning experience ideally within complex or multidisciplinary environments.
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Open Plan, Asta Powerproject (or similar).
- Ability to develop and maintain structured schedules with clear logic and critical path.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to present clear, concise insights.
- Understanding of baseline management, change control and how schedule, cost and risk interact.
- Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Awareness of project controls disciplines and project lifecycle governance.
- Awareness of contract forms (NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
- Consultancy experience (advantageous).
