Your role
- You will be primarily involved in technical work: Data analysis, Hydraulic modelling, Hydrology, GIS, Technical reporting.
- You will help ensure quality assurance for technical deliverables by checking the work of junior staff.
- Depending on your skills, you will also be responsible for developing and testing concepts for project solutions – flood mitigation.
- You will work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners, and provide a consistent service to clients.
- You will be asked to help support business development activities, including tendering for projects and client/stakeholder engagement.
About you
- You are able to work under your own steam albeit with some level of support.
- Your background will demonstrate a degree in Geography, Science, or Civil Engineering.
- Working knowledge and a proficiency in 1D-2D hydraulic modelling using any of Flood Modeller, ESTRY, TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM and a strong desire to learn more.
- GIS skills.
- Some experience in carrying out flood risk analyses for planning, development, and design.
- Some experience in carrying out a hydrological assessment, or a strong desire to learn.
- Be motivated: you should be self‑driven and committed to achieving technical excellence.
- Be collaborative: Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication are essential for collaborative work.
