How You Will Contribute
- Drive project management and coordination cross functionally with Repair Operations teams, external partners, and engineering groups to resolve complex repair issues.
- Manage the end‑to‑end repair lifecycle for Ciena products.
- Partner closely with Ciena Engineering teams to advance repair enablement, first pass evaluation (FPE) preparation, and continuous process improvements projects in the area of Repairs Operations.
- Lead and manage MRB reduction initiatives that enable cost reduction opportunities and reduce lead times.
- Define, manage, and report on key operational metrics while identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within repair operations, leveraging data analysis and lean methodologies.
- Use data and analytics to surface systemic issues, recommend solutions, and implement corrective action plans.
- Champion engineering driven optimization across repair processes and materials flow.
The Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Industrial), Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in product, manufacturing, or process engineering within high‑tech, telecom, networking, or complex electronics environments.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and driving operational improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to drive complex engineering projects from concept to execution.
- Strong understanding of repair processes, logistics, and quality control methodologies.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Applied knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and serviceability principles.
- Hands on experience with process optimization, Lean, Six Sigma, or 8D problem solving.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities and the ability to collaborate across global, cross functional teams.
- Ability to travel occasionally to repair depots, manufacturing sites, or supplier locations as required.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
