As a Quarry Operative, you will operate a range of mobile and static plant equipment safely, responsibly and in line with your certifications. You will also play a vital part in maintaining site standards, supporting production, and ensuring that all equipment runs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Operate mobile and static plant safely and professionally in line with site management instructions and certifications.
- Carry out daily maintenance tasks including refuelling, greasing, and cleaning plant equipment.
- Ensure all machinery is operated as efficiently and economically as possible.
- Complete daily inspection sheets for all mobile plant.
- Report any plant defects, safety concerns or operational issues promptly to the General Foreman.
- Complete near-miss reports and contribute to a strong safety culture.
- Undertake general maintenance and additional duties on the main processing plant as required.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A good general level of education to understand and apply Health & Safety and Quarry Regulations.
- NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations MPQRC or equivalent.
- Excavator, loading shovel, dumper tickets.
- A responsible approach to safety and compliance.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- A team player with a positive attitude.
- Reliability, initiative and willingness to undertake varied duties.
