We are seeking a London Market Business Analyst Specialist to join the Office of the UK CIO and lead the BA capability for Specialty technology delivery. You will be the domain expert across the full Specialty placement lifecycle, shaping delivery‑ready requirements for placing platforms, claims, premium and fiduciary systems, regulatory submissions and delegated authority workflows. You will use AI‑augmented tools as part of everyday practice to accelerate gap analysis, draft user stories, map complex dependencies and ensure nothing enters delivery without a clear Definition of Ready. This is a high‑impact role where your London Market experience, technical rigour and ability to translate business intent into executable scope will directly improve delivery outcomes.

We will count on you to:

  • Own the Definition of Ready for work entering sprints and projects - ensure requirements are unambiguous, acceptance criteria agreed, dependencies identified and “done” is explicit before delivery starts.
  • Use AI‑assisted drafting, sense‑checking and stress‑testing to generate first‑draft user stories, acceptance criteria and gap analyses rapidly and reliably.
  • Translate business intent into delivery‑ready scope across the full Specialty value stream, including Lloyd’s‑specific workflows, ACORD and MRC messaging patterns, placing platform integrations and regulatory submission requirements.
  • Act as the domain authority within the delivery team - provide engineers, QA and architects with the why behind processes so solutions work in practice.
  • Map and surface cross‑system dependencies early and ensure they are resolved before they become blockers, using process discovery and dependency visualisation tools as part of your toolkit.
  • Work end‑to‑end across pre‑marketing, market selection and placement, post‑bind processing, fiduciary/premium processing, claims and regulatory/market submissions.
  • Collaborate closely with Strategic TPMs, Regional Solutions/Data Architects, the Regional Business Architect and the delivery pod to align requirements with capability architecture and programme priorities.
  • Contribute to shaping the BA practice within the Office of the UK CIO - influence standards, tooling adoption and how AI is embedded into BA workflows.

What you need to have:

  • Demonstrable hands‑on experience in the London Market or specialty lines, with strong familiarity of Lloyd’s workflows, placing platforms and market conventions.
  • Proven BA experience in complex, cross‑system insurance delivery (placing platforms, claims systems, premium and fiduciary flows, bordereaux).
  • Practical knowledge of ACORD, MRC standards, market messaging and regulatory reporting (Lloyd’s, FCA) and how these affect solution design.
  • Strong Agile/product delivery skills: writing clear user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog grooming and gating work for delivery.
  • Experience mapping data flows, integrations and third‑party platform dependencies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills with a track record of influencing across business and technology.
  • Comfort using AI and process intelligence tools in day‑to‑day analysis and documentation (or demonstrable willingness to adopt them quickly).
  • Relevant professional certifications or qualification (eg. CBAP, BCS, or equivalent) are desirable.

What makes you stand out?

  • Direct prior experience shaping requirements for placing platform integrations, regulatory submissions to Lloyd’s or complex claims/premium systems.
  • A track record of being the go‑to domain expert within delivery teams, explaining not just what processes do but why they operate as they do.
  • Proven ability to combine deep market knowledge with AI‑augmented analysis — knowing when model output is correct, plausible but wrong, or needs human judgement.
  • Experience establishing BA standards, improving BA practices or mentoring other BAs in a technology delivery context.
  • Familiarity with process discovery, dependency visualisation, and other automation tools that accelerate requirement definition and risk identification.
