Position: Associate – TDS, London

Business/Product Group: TD Securities, Debt Capital Markets Origination

Role: Corporate Origination

Business Overview: The Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”) group at TD Securities is hiring for an Associate position on the International Corporate Investment Grade Debt Capital Markets Origination team, based in London, UK. This is an opportunity to join a growing team with visibility at the senior executive level within TD Securities. The position will provide an opportunity to gain coverage and transaction experience with client facing opportunities. The ideal candidate will enjoy a high level of responsibility in a fast paced and dynamic trading floor environment.

Position Summary:

  • Works alongside senior DCM Origination Officers in pitching and covering TD’s clients globally and identify funding needs and strategic opportunities across various currencies.
  • Responsible for putting together weekly new issue pricing, monitoring and communicating relevant market activity to clients, constructing presentations for meetings, and maintaining deal databases.
  • Establish deep knowledge of the global bond markets, identifying trends and originating unique ideas (acquisition financing, liability management, structured transactions, etc.).
  • Play integral role in the deal cycle from beginning to end including taking ownership of pitches, deal documentation, sales memos, marketing, due diligence, execution, pricing, and settlement.
  • Responsible for coordinating with various groups within TD: Syndicate, Sales and Trading, Research, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, Market Risk Solutions, Global DCM teams, Equity Capital Markets, Loan Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, etc.
  • You will understand and comply with TD Securities’ Policies, regulatory and compliance requirements, ensuring that transactions are fully documented and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Your position possesses specialized and expert knowledge of market data, economic information and key industry developments as well as regulatory standards. You will leverage this information to assist in maximizing profitability through sound business decisions.
  • Position develops and maintains contacts with market participants and supports syndicate operating in supplying market information to partners within the Global DCM group.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years’ plus experience within Debt Capital Markets or a similar group (Debt Capital Markets, Syndicate or Derivatives) preferred.
  • Strong references.

  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and establish priorities.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong writing skills: possessing the ability to lay out nuanced concepts clearly and succinctly in long form and presentation formats.
  • Ideal candidate would be self‑driven, have pride of ownership in her/his work product, and show intellectual curiosity in financial market concepts.
