OVERVIEW
The Asset Protection Specialist role will be based out Flagship locations and will provide support at surrounding sanctuaries within their market. You will help support, lead, and maximize all aspects of the Asset Protection function for ALO sanctuaries in direct partnership with the Regional Asset Protection Manager. In this new role, you will use proven methodologies, new technological advances, and data analysis, in combination with a relentless pursuit of excellence to strategically execute a customized Asset Protection program to fully support the ALO vision and brand expansion.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use data and strategy to achieve the company shrinkage goal in your assigned store(s).
- Partner with the store team to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a variety of emergencies.
- Conduct thorough investigations into incidents of theft, fraud, operational, and other loss-related activities.
- Utilize CCTV and surveillance tools to monitor store activities and identify suspicious behaviours and address safety concerns.
- Analyze surveillance footage and gather evidence to support investigations.
- Involvement in daily operational processes.
- Monitor inventory levels by analyzing RFID data to conduct item level investigations for top loss items.
- Identify, elevate, and support internal dishonesty investigations through various methods.
- Conduct regular store walks to ensure compliance with safety and physical security policies.
- Collaborate with management to implement and enforce loss prevention policies tailored to ALO’s brand and customer experience.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and legal teams during investigations, providing necessary documentation and testimony when required.
- Network with other peers in the AP/LP Field for partnership on investigations, best practices, and trends.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings, including recommendations for improvements and preventative measures.
- Conduct asset protection assessments and develop action plans to address vulnerabilities.
- Partner with Regional Asset Protection Manager to identify shrink, security, safety, and cash management opportunities.
- Educate staff on loss prevention practices and the importance of asset protection.
- Assist in training new employees on asset protection and safety relevant to the retail environment.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding asset protection policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance investigative skills and knowledge.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Strong desire and ability to learn new skills and best practices on an ongoing basis.
- Proven experience in loss prevention, security, or investigations, preferably in a retail environment.
- Ability to travel to sanctuaries within market as required.
- Flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business where schedules will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in using surveillance systems and investigative tools.
- Proficient computer skills including asset protection applications, MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, OneNote, and PowerPoint), and store systems such as RFID, and Shopify.
- Must be comfortable working in an independent manner, able to multi-task, be flexible with and embrace change prioritising the needs of the business.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to asset protection.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
- May involve some physical activity, including lifting and moving merchandise.
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store.
- May occasionally involve reaching above eye level, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
- Ability to lift/move up to 30lbs.

The Asset Protection Specialist base pay ranges from $25.00- $29.00/ hour. The range listed is just one component of the Company’s total rewards package for retail employees.
