As an Account Manager at YouGov, your core objective is to deliver against a defined sales target within the Financial Services sector. The Account Manager will drive growth through renewals, cross‑selling, and upselling, increasing the value of your account portfolio year on year. Reporting to an Account Director, also based in the UK, the Account Manager acts as the day‑to‑day commercial lead for a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities to expand YouGov’s footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to account planning, including sales planning and forecasting
- Develop, maintain, and execute strategic account plans
- Manage proposals and create tailored client materials
- Lead contract and commercial negotiations with support from the Account Director
- Build and maintain strong day‑to‑day client relationships across your portfolio
- Partner closely with New Business, Client Services, and Product teams
- Support the cross‑product proposition and strategy for Financial Services clients
- Strengthen and enhance YouGov’s reputation with clients
What you’ll bring
- Experience within Financial Services, with an understanding of the role of research and data in the sector
- Proven track record of managing and growing client relationships
- A commercial mindset, with a passion for business development and growth
- Previous experience applying structured sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC (or similar frameworks) to drive deal qualification and progression
- Experience in a performance‑driven environment (e.g., research, media, or marketing agency)
- Strong experience in key account management and/or subscription sales
- Ability to develop solutions collaboratively and build compelling proposals
Technical skills and qualifications
- Degree in a relevant field (preferred)
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and digital communication skills
