Mercer is seeking a Global Benefits Management (GBM) Account Director who will be responsible for managing the GBM relationship with our largest strategic and most complex accounts outbound from UK/ Europe. You will focus on client retention and satisfaction, bringing new ideas, innovative thinking and regular points of view in the GBM arena to our clients as well as ensuring we are operationally effective.

We will count on you to:

  • The Account Director will be a point of escalation for any GBM account issues, lead and scope global review meetings and take the lead on any rebid situations.
  • Where applicable you will also ensure alignment and oversight of the delivery of our technology solution, Darwin.
  • This individual will also support sales as a technical expert and contribute to the design and delivery of our strategic content in annual review meetings/ strategy sessions relating to cost optimization and benefit design in the wider client portfolio, including mentoring and upskilling the wider team members.

Manage the overall GBM client relationship with our largest most strategic complex accounts. Work with the GBM client team to ensure client satisfaction, setting clear direction on how the team will meet client expectations. Ensure client health is managed effectively, there is strong internal and external stakeholder management with a focus on avoiding or securing re-bids. Work with the GBM Sales team to drive pipeline population and demonstrate the added value we provide relating to cost management and benefit design. Deliver and evolve our thought leadership and insights that can be integrated into the way we work and at annual review meetings, creating templates and supporting wider account meetings to mentor and coach. Support in the delivery of training to the GBM Local Network on new initiatives to ensure global and local are aligned. Support GBM Local, GBM Account Managers training as required.

What you need to have:

  • Proven experience and knowledge of the Global Benefits environment.
  • Extensive experience of building and sustaining multinational client relationships.
  • Ability to connect and foster trusted relationships internally and externally.
  • Significant delivery of Consulting and/or Broking expertise.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and develop strategic insights.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
