We’re looking for a proactive and safety‑driven Production Supervisor to support the Production Manager in delivering smooth, consistent and efficient daily operations at our asphalt production facility. What You’ll Do

  • Operational Leadership
    • Provide first‑line supervision and operational cover across production hours
    • Ensure efficient use of labour, plant, and materials
    • Deliver toolbox talks, training, and clear on‑shift instruction
    • Help develop daily mixing plans to maximise output and maintain customer satisfaction
  • Safety, Quality & Compliance
    • Champion strict adherence to IMS relating to Safety, Health, Environment & Quality
    • Carry out contractor audits, manage compliance and uphold company safety standards
    • Support with risk assessments, work procedures, and continuous improvement
    • Ensure completion of pre‑use and PPM inspections, reporting defects as required
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with planning, distribution and commercial teams to optimise plant performance
    • Build strong relationships with aggregates colleagues to identify efficiencies
    • Support employee concerns and follow grievance procedures where necessary
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Identify opportunities to improve plant performance and operational processes
    • Drive business performance indicators in partnership with the Production Manager
    • Maintain CPD through training, qualifications and development courses

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with practical knowledge, strong communication skills and a commitment to safe, efficient working.

Essential skills & experience

  • Strong health & safety awareness and understanding of statutory duties
  • Experience implementing procedures, inspections and operational standards
  • Ability to motivate, organise and direct others
  • Confidence in basic computer skills and systems such as SAP, Entropy or Interlex
  • Self‑motivation and a proactive approach to problem‑solving

Qualifications (or willingness to work toward)

  • Relevant Operations qualification (DAPS)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Safety Management
  • NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations (EPIC)
  • NVQ Level 2 in Process Operations

Additional Information

  • Some travel to alternative sites may be required
  • This role may include a formal appointment as responsible supervisor under Quarry Regulations 1999 (subject to qualification)
