Your Mission
As a People Business Partner, you will play a key role in connecting business needs with People expertise in a global matrix environment. You’ll partner with managers and teams to understand their priorities and challenges, supporting them across the full employee lifecycle while ensuring a consistent and impactful People experience.
Working closely with the People Operations hub and our global Centres of Excellence (People Analytics, People Development, Talent Acquisition, and Inclusion & Belonging), you’ll enable managers to deliver their objectives through effective people practices. You’ll also lead on local initiatives in the UK, such as the employee survey, wellbeing, and strengthening our culture, while supporting functional teams in London and remotely in Berlin as part of a global functional squad.
This role combines hands-on delivery with opportunities to contribute to organisational change, making it an exciting and varied position for someone who enjoys visibility, collaboration, and impact.
What You\’ll Be Doing
Functional
- Partner with functional teams to align people initiatives with business priorities.
- Work as part of a global functional squad, paired with a Business Partner covering the North America and LATAM region, ensuring alignment and consistency across regions.
- Partner with managers on performance, development, succession planning, and organisational design.
- Use People Analytics to provide data-driven insights and inform decisions.
- Partner with the People Operations hub on employee lifecycle topics for teams in London and Berlin including onboarding, employee relations, mobility, reward, payroll, data management, and compliance.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and provide functional support for German compliance requirements.
- Build strong relationships with Berlin-based teams, providing effective remote support and ensuring consistency with London.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition CoE on hiring and workforce planning needs.
- Partner with managers on career pathways and building future-ready capabilities.
- Support managers in developing inclusive, empowering, and effective ways of working.
Local (UK)
- Act as part of the UK People team, responsible for UK-wide people topics.
- Ensure the consistent application and development of people policies and practices.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, including the employee survey, action planning, and follow-up.
- Champion health & wellbeing programmes across the UK business.
- Support and promote initiatives that foster inclusion, collaboration, and empowerment.
- Collaborate with the BMG Advisory Council to support communication and strengthening our culture.
- Partner with the People Operations hub to ensure smooth UK payroll, data management, and compliance processes.
- Support global process review and implementation within the UK, ensuring that global initiatives are effectively adapted and embedded locally.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a People Business Partner (or similar role) in a complex or matrix organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law; experience of German frameworks desirable but not required.
- Experience working with global teams and adapting processes to regional needs.
- Experience contributing to global process design and implementation, with the ability to adapt and embed initiatives at a local level.
- Strong grounding across core People Partnering areas (employee relations, engagement, talent, reward, policy, wellbeing).
- Strong relationship builder, with excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Positive, practical and solution-focused, able to balance day-to-day support with longer-term initiatives.
- Analytical and curious, with the ability to use data and insights to drive action.
- Adaptable and culturally aware, comfortable working across regions and time zones.
