The Role:
The AI Application and Automation Manager is responsible for overseeing AI applications, automation initiatives, and the technical integration of AI tools into Fremantle’s existing infrastructure. As a senior technical leader, this role will evaluate, prioritise, and implement AI innovations across the business, ensuring seamless integration and maximum impact.
The AI Application and Automation Manager will manage a team of AI Automation Assistants and work closely with IT and business units to drive the adoption of AI solutions that enhance productivity, content production, and commercial operations. Additionally, this role will be instrumental in identifying key AI workstreams and use cases, ensuring alignment with Fremantle’s strategic objectives. While this is a management role, it requires a hands-on approach, with direct involvement in technical solution design, implementation, and AI experimentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the AI products and technical integration of AI and automation tools into existing systems and workflows.
- Line manage and provide technical leadership to the AI Automation Assistants, including setting priorities, supporting development, and ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Assess new AI technologies, identify potential use cases, and prioritise implementation based on business impact.
- Work closely with IT and engineering teams to ensure AI solutions meet security, compliance, and scalability requirements.
- Collaborate and communicate with business units to understand operational challenges and develop AI-driven solutions.
- Evaluate AI vendors and third-party solutions, ensuring they align with business needs and technology standards.
- Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives for new AI applications and drive their successful deployment.
- Develop best practices and governance frameworks for AI tool adoption and integration.
- Support the AI Steering Committee in defining key technical priorities and providing updates on AI advancements.
- Ensure AI adoption aligns with Fremantle’s global and regional AI strategy.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in AI/ML, automation, or software development with a strong technical background.
- Experience in leading and developing technical teams.
- Ability to communicate complex technical problems, concepts and solutions to different levels of business stakeholders.
- Expertise in AI integration, API management, and enterprise technology solutions.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based AI services and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
- Experience in leading AI implementation projects from ideation to deployment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify AI opportunities and deliver solutions.
- Ability to collaborate with IT, engineering, and business teams to drive AI adoption.
- Knowledge of data governance, AI ethics, and compliance considerations.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Skill and Experience:
- Experience within the media, television, or entertainment industry.
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven content creation and production automation tools.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and AI model deployment.
- Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of AI-driven analytics, data processing, and automation workflows.
