We are seeking an Industrial Engineer working for a Stoke based engineering company who make cutting edge large engineering products used in Aerospace, MOD and Marine for Global customers. You will ideally need to have experience in PLCs, panel wiring and 3-phase electrical systems as you will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing electrical equipment to systems and hardware assembled in our factory with travel to the installation sites across the UK and abroad.
With the travel allowance and no additional overtime, we would expect earnings to be in the region of £47,000 and with some additional overtime you could easily earn c£55 to £60,000 per annum. The most important thing is a good positive attitude and someone who takes pride in their work, as it is currently a fast-growing close-knit team of c.50 people mainly mechanical engineers with just a team of 2 on the electrical side.
Key Responsibilities:- Install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures to assembled system hardware.
- Work with 3-phase electrical systems.
- Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance to assembled equipment both in the factory and at the customers' installation site.
- Build and fault-find equipment control panels.
- Ensure all work meets current regulations and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and determine the best course of action for repairs.
- Collaborate with team members both in the factory and on site to complete projects efficiently.
- Document work performed and report any issues to management.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Proven experience as a commercial or industrial electrician.
- Strong knowledge of control wiring, 3-phase systems and industrial equipment.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Proven experience as an electrician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools related to electrical work.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and safety practices.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in electrical work are advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with PLC systems and control logic.
- Testing and Inspection qualification (2391 or equivalent).
