What you\’ll do

As a Cake & Flowers Shop Supervisor at The Dorchester, you will be part of a creative and customer-focused team dedicated to delivering bespoke luxury experiences through cakes, floral arrangements, and personalized guest gifting. You will support the shop manager in daily operations while taking ownership of the guest journey and product presentation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the daily operations of the Cake & Flowers Shop, ensuring smooth service, team coordination, and an exceptional guest experience.
• Supporting the production and presentation of cakes, pastries, floral arrangements, and bespoke guest gifting items, ensuring they meet the highest visual and quality standards.
• Managing and fulfilling guest orders, offering personalized advice and assistance with attention to detail.
• Supervising the team on shift, providing guidance, training, and ensuring adherence to service and product standards.
• Assisting in inventory control, maintaining stock levels, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring displays are refreshed and aligned with brand standards and seasonal offerings.
• Collaborating with other hotel departments for special events, guest celebrations, or corporate gifting.
• Maintaining records of orders, stock, and supplier deliveries, ensuring efficiency and compliance with administrative processes.
• Ensuring the shop environment is welcoming, polished, and immaculate.
• Supporting the training of new team members and fostering a culture of creativity, excellence, and five-star hospitality.

You’ll be a vital part of a boutique operation that brings joy, elegance, and creativity into the lives of our guests and residents—whether through a showstopping cake, a fragrant bouquet, or a thoughtful gift.

What you\’ll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

• Experience in retail, hospitality, or patisserie service environments.
• A keen eye for presentation, detail, and personalization, with a passion for luxury gifting and guest delight.
• Experience supporting a team and taking on supervisory responsibilities, including training, quality checks, and daily operations.
• Comfort in handling guest orders, special requests, and coordination with hotel teams.
• Fluent in English with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Basic knowledge of floral design, cake production, or gift preparation.
• Understanding of stock control, supplier coordination, or boutique administration.
• Confidence using point-of-sale or order management systems.
