What you will do
Under the direction of the global director of communications and partnerships and the head of communications, the global communications manager is responsible for driving worldwide awareness and recognition of the Dorchester Collection brand and its hotels through the creation and execution of integrated communications strategies. In this role, you will:
- Implement and execute the media relations strategy for Dorchester Collection by managing the flow of communication and dissemination globally
- Increase the awareness of the brand through the generation of engaging and compelling content, especially in key feeder markets
- Brief and monitor the network of international communications agencies (UK, US, GCC, Brazil, China and Japan) to align on strategies and KPIs
- Day-to-day management of the global press office, including handling incoming opportunities from markets with no agency coverage
- Act as the guardian for aligned, omnichannel and on brand communications content to hotels' local communications teams
- Development of media briefing notes and Q&A documents for events and interview opportunities
- Draft editorial copy, media releases and backgrounders
- Proof read content, Collect and Legends
- Organise and execute media interviews and events in key feeder markets (UK, US, Brazil, China and HK, Japan)
- Manage the relationships and collaborations with Dorchester Collection's interior designers, chefs and spa providers
- Work closely with the wider Dorchester Collection commercial team to ensure amplification of activations through communications efforts
- Collaborate and help manage current partners in the arts, sports, wellness, F&B and automotive sectors on activations to drive awareness to new and existing audiences
- Support the global director of communications and partnerships and head of communications in all the strategic and operational communications phases of new hotel openings and launches
- Liaise with the Residences' owning companies on global media activities and sign off on all communication materials
- Organise and manage partner events and KOLs aligned to the target market strategy and work with internal stakeholders
- Liaise closely with Dorchester Collection's global social media and people & culture teams to maximise media opportunities across key channels' editorial calendars
- Deputise for the head of communications and social media executive when they are out of the office
Tools and Analytics
- Oversee Dorchester Collection's media centre and 'communications highlights' tool
- Own and champion all communications tools, campaigns and cuttings e.g. CoverageBook, MuckRack, etc.
- Provide ongoing reporting and analysis on all communications metrics
- Increase traffic to website through generation of backlinks
- Ensure analytical approach to media relations to optimise strategy and drive ROI
- Implement and oversee affiliate marketing and reporting
What you will bring
- An ability to think creatively with a keen interest in luxury hospitality and travel
- Experience in leading and delivering media relations strategies, either client-or agency side, preferably at an international level
- Highly developed organisational skills, with experience in partnership campaigns and issue/crisis management an advantage
- Experience in managing communications agencies and media relationships
- Knowledge of communications tools, KPIs, reporting and analytics
- Fluent English and superb creative copywriting and editing skills
- Advanced PowerPoint skills
