Responsible for providing quantity surveying and cost management services for civil and structural engineering projects from inception to completion and handover of projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the cost management element for the delivery of works, including the provision of commercial support to the design and client teams.
- Preparation of bills of quantities and schedules of work for pricing.
- Involvement in tender stage activities such as tender reviews and development of procurement plans.
- Preparation of Pre-Tender Estimates.
- Provide accurate values of works undertaken.
- Preparation and monitoring of the submission and approval of design, specification and cost estimates information.
- Attendance at project team meetings, site visits and client consultations.
- Operation of procedures in accordance with the firm's Quality System.
- Project Management / assisting the project management team in project delivery.
Qualification
- Chartered Quantity Surveyor: Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years post graduation experience.
- Knowledge of and experience in NEC and Public Works contracts.
- Experience in other forms of contracts desirable.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance systems and quality management.
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
- Beneficial to have project management experience but not essential.
