The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance and servicing on a variety of machinery and equipment based at the Macclesfield sites. This role involves troubleshooting mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely. The Engineer will also be expected to lead projects around efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and safety improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine and non-routine maintenance and repair work on all machinery, equipment, systems (both hardware and software) to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical and/or system faults and issues using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to implement effective solutions.
  • Installation: Support the Facilities Manager in the installation and assembly of machinery, systems, and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functioning.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while carrying out maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures, particularly machine safety requirements including the Machine Acceptance Procedure and PUWER compliance.
  • Upgrades & Improvements: Assist in the implementation of equipment upgrades and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all backups are completed regularly and to the right standard for all machinery hardware.
  • Collaboration/Teamwork: Work closely with other maintenance team members, engineers, production staff, and technology teams to address and resolve technical issues. Collaborate with suppliers to assist in sharing knowledge and training regarding door setup and key preparation information.
  • Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunction, including both visual and sound inspections to ensure quality, safety, and productivity are at the standards of a centre of excellence.
  • Work with the manufacturing managers and warehouse managers in Macclesfield to ensure all work is completed in a timely and least disruptive manner possible.
