The Role
Responsible for the inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair of plant machinery and LGV vehicles within a workshop environment, ensuring all equipment remains safe, compliant and operational.
Responsibilities
- Service, inspect and repair plant and LGV vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults.
- Complete preventative maintenance inspections.
- Prepare vehicles and plant for operational deployment.
- Complete job cards and maintenance records.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop.
- Support breakdown and recovery activities.
- Assist with refurbishment projects and major repairs.
- Attend mandatory training and record CPD.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Call Out based on a rolling Rota
- Technical Skills & Experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Experience maintaining plant machinery and/or LGVs.
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
Qualifications & Training
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Heavy Vehicle, Plant Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering, Iretec Accredited (desirable).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- LGV/HGV Licence desirable.
