The Role As an R&M Ganger for Doocey Group you will be leading a team of utilities operatives working on water infrastructure projects throughout the West Midlands. Responsibilities * Lead a gang of operatives, allocating tasks and ensuring work is done efficiently and safely * Ensure site set-up and closure are completed safely and in accordance with company and client standards * Act as the main point of contact between the team and site management * Supervise and assist with the repair of burst or leaking water mains and service pipes * Install new water service connections, boundary boxes, meters, and valves * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (e.g. valve operations, flushing, swabbing) * Monitor and record water flow/pressure data to support diagnostic or commissioning work * Operate or oversee the use of excavators, compressors, breakers and lifting equipment * Ensure daily plant checks are completed and defects reported * Communicate courteously and clearly with customers, landowners, and the public during works * Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations (e.g. confined space, traffic management, excavation safety) * Ensure the correct risk assessments, method statements, and permits are in place before work starts * Complete job sheets, site diaries, and reports * Ensure work areas are always clean and tidy Personal Qualities * Leadership and people management * Strong awareness of health, safety, and environmental standards * Problem solving * Decision-making under pressure * Communication * Hard-working Qualifications & Training * EUSR Water Hygiene * CPCS or NPORS Excavator up to 10 tonnes * SHEA Water Card (desirable) * Full and clean driving licence Additional Information Doocey Group value a diverse workforce and welcome applications form all sections of the community, regardless of any protected characteristics.
