The Role
The Design and Planning Administrator will provide key administrative support in managing traffic management permits and planning applications, ensuring compliance with local regulations and facilitating efficient traffic flow during construction or maintenance projects. The role involves coordinating permit applications, liaising with local authorities, and assisting in the planning and scheduling of traffic management operations, as well as maintaining accurate records, assisting in processing applications and communicating updates to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and submitting traffic management permit applications
- Liaise with local councils and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with traffic management laws
- Support in the scheduling and planning of road closures, diversions and other traffic management measures
- Maintain up-to-date records and databases related to permits, traffic management plans and applications
- Provide administrative support to permit renewals and extensions
- Monitor and track the status of applications, ensuring timely approvals
- Assist in the preparation of traffic management plans in line with project requirements
- Respond to queries from both internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure all required documentation is completed, accurate and submitted within the required deadlines
- Management of shared inboxes, ensuring prompt responses and escalation where required

Technical Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in an administrative role within a traffic management environment is preferred but not essential
- Administrative experience
- We are open to school leavers with no work experience if they demonstrate the right skills and aptitude for the role
Qualifications & Training
- GCSEs Grade 9-4 or equivalent
- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
