The Role

The Costings Administrator Trainee provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain exposure to the inner workings of a financial operation within a fast-growing SME organisation. The role focusses on supporting the preparation, analysis, and management of job costs throughout the Doocey Group. The role involves assisting in compiling accurate cost estimations, maintaining financial records, liaising with departments to gather required data, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and policies. This position is designed to offer hands-on experience and training, contributing to both personal development and the overall efficiency of the costings team.

Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the Costing’s team to ensure the timely maintenance of the Costing’s email inbox, dealing with enquiries and action points accordingly and within Costing’s service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Carrying out checks between Commercial and Costing’s figures, highlighting errors and working towards becoming efficient in rectifying discrepancies
  • Notify Directors and HR through daily emails of the Finance team’s whereabouts in the form of a register
  • Collate and chase, if necessary, any outstanding data from other departments to ensure data is prepared for weekly managers’ meeting
  • Scanning and filing of weekly reports
  • Assist with the Month End process, supporting the collating of figures for Directors to use in the monthly Board Meeting
  • Completion of other necessary Costing’s tasks, as and when required
  • Ensure completion of ongoing learning and development, to work towards a full Costing’s Administrator role
  • Attend mandatory training courses as defined within the company training matrix
