At Donquest, we take real pride in offering exceptional care to our furry friends. Located near Christchurch Airport, we provide a premium dog daycare and pet boarding facility. We are a positive, friendly team dedicated to creating a safe, happy, and loving environment for the pets trusted to our care.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Animal Care Attendant to join our team. Your main goal will be to provide a clean, caring, and playful environment for our guest dogs and cats. This role offers excellent full-time hours and is a fantastic opportunity for graduates or students with open availability.
Key Responsibilities

- Health & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the facility, including cleaning kennels, runs, and common areas.
- Feeding & Routine: Administer food, water, and basic care routines according to specific pet needs.
- Customer Service: Greet pet owners warmly and handle drop-offs and pick-ups with clear, friendly communication.
What You Bring (Key Attributes)
- Physical Fitness: This is an active, often outdoors role that keeps you on your feet and moving.
- Animal Awareness: You are observant of pet behavior and naturally attuned to animal well-being. (Prior experience with dogs and cats is an advantage, but full training will be provided for the right person!)
- Great Communication: Strong, clear verbal skills for working with the team and chatting to customers.
- Reliable Transport: There is no bus service to our facility, so you must have your own reliable mode of transport to get to work.
- Availability: Flexibility to work regular weekend shifts on a rotating 7-day schedule.
What We Offer
- A supportive, positive, and genuinely friendly work environment.
- Comprehensive on the job training in animal care.
- The chance to spend your working days hanging out with wonderful pets!
- Flexible Hours/Days
