We are currently recruiting for an experienced Field HSE Lead to join a major energy project based in Teesside. This is a 12 month contract role, and our client is looking for someone to start as soon as possible. You must have recent and relevant site-based HSE leadership experience on major energy, oil and gas or similar projects. The successful candidate will lead a team of 4 HSE Officers and report directly to the Project HSE Manager. This is a hands-on site-based HSE leadership role, with responsibility for implementing and managing HSE systems and ensuring effective HSE performance across the site and subcontractor activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 4 HSE Officers
- Act as the HSE focal point for site activities and manage HSE matters arising on site
- Implement and maintain HSE management systems in accordance with company, IOGP and ISO standards
- Provide HSE advice and support to project and site management
- Ensure effective HSE management and compliance across subcontractor activities
- Apply UK HSE legislation and CDM requirements
- Interface with the environmental management team and provide onsite HSE support
- Lead accident and incident investigations
- Establish and implement HSE monitoring and audit programmes
- Lead risk management activities including HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessments and Hazard and Effect Management processes
- Liaise with the client, subcontractors and relevant authorities
- Develop and implement emergency response arrangements for identified potential events
Requirements
- Proven experience in an HSE Manager or senior HSE leadership role
- Strong site-based HSE experience within major energy, oil and gas or similar projects
- Experience working with international oil and gas industry standards, preferably IOGP
- Good knowledge of UK HSE legislation and CDM Regulations
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Previous experience managing or leading an HSE team
