We are currently recruiting for an experienced Marine Advisor to work on behalf of our client, an international offshore wind/energy engineering contractor, on a long term contract basis. We are ideally looking for a Senior Officer/Master Mariner with 10-15 years+ experience, with a background in and knowledge of offshore vessel operations.
The successful candidate will be part of the offshore wind business within the installation methods department of our client. You will interface with various projects and departments including engineering, procurement, HSE, Quality and planning disciplines in the provision of maritime advice.
Responsibilities:
- Writing scopes of work and documentation for vessels to use on marine operations projects
- Creating the specifications needed for the vessels used for the operations
- Reviewing technical bid evaluations and proposals
- Establishing procedures and method statements
- Being involved in marine assurance
- Input into the development of offshore engineering methods and project execution strategies relating to marine and vessel operations
- HAZIDS, HAZOPS and other formal risk assessment processes
Skills/experience required:
- Master STCW II/2 (Unrestricted) Certificate of Competency with command experience preferred, or a lower CoC with appropriate degree
- 10 - 15+ years as Senior officer on offshore vessel types with a background in operations and working of the vessels
- Ability to command an offshore vessel
- Ability to use MS Office packages
