We are recruiting for a number of Senior Flow Assurance Engineers to join a specialist engineering consultancy working on concept, FEED and early project definition studies within the energy and oil & gas sectors. This is a contract role with an anticipated duration of 6 months.

The role is highly focused on Flow Assurance and OLGA transient modelling, working within small multi-disciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Flow Assurance studies using OLGA, PIPESIM, PIPENET or similar software
  • Develop pipeline simulation models and carry out steady-state and transient analysis
  • Assess flow assurance issues including slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion and corrosion and develop mitigation solutions
  • Undertake pipeline sizing and thermo-hydraulic studies
  • Perform transient analysis covering shutdown, blowdown, start-up, ramp-up and turndown scenarios
  • Carry out pipeline overpressure protection and surge pressure studies
  • Prepare technical calculations, reports, strategies and procedures
  • Liaise with clients and present technical findings
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Work as part of multi-disciplinary project and study teams

Essential Experience

  • Strong Flow Assurance Engineering background
  • Minimum 6 years' hands-on experience using OLGA transient simulation software
  • Experience with single and multiphase pipeline analysis
  • Experience of steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis
  • Good understanding of flow assurance issues and mitigation methods
  • Experience with pipeline sizing and thermo-hydraulics
  • Experience with transient shutdown, blowdown, start-up, ramp-up and turndown studies
  • Experience with pipeline overpressure protection and surge analysis
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics
  • Excellent technical report writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience presenting technical information to clients
  • UK residency

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Multiflash, HYSYS, topsides process engineering and conceptual/front-end studies would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • Working Pattern: Hybrid working, with a combination of office-based (3 days) and remote working (2 days)
