We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Donnington Grove Vets on a part‑time basis. You'll work alongside a dedicated team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and support colleagues, all committed to delivering exceptional patient and client care while supporting one another's ongoing development. Our RCVS Tier 3 Hospital in Newbury is equipped to provide advanced care around the clock. Located in the thriving market town of Newbury, with excellent restaurants, a direct 45‑minute train service to London Paddington and easy access to the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it offers the perfect balance of career opportunities and lifestyle.
Our facilities include digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound with colour Doppler, endoscopy, arthroscopy, an operating microscope, microsurgical equipment, slit lamp and Tonovet, allowing us to deliver outstanding patient care across a diverse caseload.
Practice Highlights- Team of 17 Veterinary Surgeons, including certificate holders in small animal surgery and ophthalmology, alongside vets with interests in internal medicine and exotics
- 14 Registered Veterinary Nurses supported by 9 Student Veterinary Nurses at various stages of training
- Dedicated team of 8 Nursing Assistants
- 3 Night Nurses providing overnight patient care and support
As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first‑opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.
Working Pattern- Part‑time, 35 hours per week
- 1 in 9 weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with generous time off before and after your working weekend
- No night shifts or out‑of‑hours requirement
- Managing the patient journey from admission through to discharge
- Running nurse consultations and delivering outstanding client care
- Providing nursing care for medical and surgical patients
- Delivering perioperative care and anaesthesia support
