Do you have an interest in the manufacturing industry? Do you want to learn and earn at the same time? At Doncasters, we have an exciting opportunity for 2 Maintenance Apprentices to join our team in Trucast on the Isle of Wight!

The Role: As a maintenance apprentice, you will join our maintenance team with the goal of becoming a qualified mechanical or electrical maintenance engineer. You will shadow members of the maintenance team to learn about the role and tasks that you will complete independently once qualified. Our maintenance team is crucial to the continued production, ensuring that all equipment is performing at its best so we can continue to turn metals into motion!
On a day-to-day basis, you will respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively. These can vary from facility breakdowns such as a light fault to a large machine breaking down. You will use your strong communication skills to collaborate with multiple departments around the site, ensuring machinery is working to full capacity.
The course: Level 3 Engineering Maintenance and Operations Technician Apprenticeship. Apprentices will complete work-based learning, gaining valuable knowledge and experience.
Development and progression: Once successful completion of the Level 3 apprenticeship is achieved, the apprentice will then choose to specialise and learn either electrical or mechanical maintenance engineering with the final goal of becoming a multi-skilled maintenance engineer. Doncasters will support you through your level 4 apprenticeship to achieve this goal.

To be eligible to complete the level 3 apprenticeship course at the Isle of Wight, the successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs grades 9-4, including maths and English.
