At Doncasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Killamarsh, Sheffield. This role operates on a rotating shift pattern, Monday to Friday with one week of days (0600-1400), one week of nights (2200 – 0600) and one week of afternoons (1400 – 2200).

The Role
As a Laboratory Technician you will perform chemical analysis to documented methods and procedures using XRF, Spark‑OES, gas fusion, combustion and GDMS techniques. You will also prepare samples for analysis and micro‑cleanliness exams and conduct those examinations. You will also calculate in‑process melt additions (bath sample additions) as well as carrying out contract review for external contract analysis.

- Level 4 qualification in chemistry or related technical discipline or equivalent.
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent (desirable).
- Previous experience within a laboratory environment, ideally working with metals or utilising the analytical techniques listed above.
- Understanding of dilutions and concentrations when making solutions.
- Knowledge and experience of using an optical microscope.
