We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable HR Officer!
At ARC, we embrace diversity, develop our people, care for our visitors, think about our impact, and we are proud of our sport.
Who is Doncaster Racecourse & the Hilton Garden Inn?
Home to the world's oldest classic horse race, the St. Leger, Doncaster Racecourse is a truly unique, multi-purpose venue welcoming over 500,000 guests across 35+ racedays each year. From thrilling fixtures to a packed events calendar including weddings, conferences, boxing, classic car shows, antiques fairs, and more, there’s always something happening. On-site you'll also find the Hilton Garden Inn, a 154-bedroom hotel with conference and exhibition spaces, a banqueting suite, restaurant, and bar. A popular destination for racegoers and business guests alike, it's part of a global hotel brand with an outstanding reputation for quality and service.
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive HR Officer to support HR operations across Doncaster Racecourse and the Hilton Garden Inn, with occasional support across the North East venues. Working closely with the Regional HR Manager, you’ll get stuck into all areas of HR - recruitment, employee relations, payroll support, training, and HR administration. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where no two days are ever the same.
You’ll own end-to-end recruitment, keep HR systems accurate and up to date, support payroll processes, and help managers with performance and employee relations matters. You’ll also play a key role in training coordination, employee wellbeing, and supporting our casual workforce through the staffing team. You’ll build strong relationships across the business, working closely with managers and the Senior Leadership Team - attending meetings, offering guidance, and helping to develop management capability to drive real operational impact.
This is a brilliant opportunity to grow your HR career in a dynamic, supportive environment. With exposure across a wide range of HR activities and access to funded development opportunities, you’ll be supported to learn, develop, and make a real difference.
The role is based on a 40-hour working week, across five days out of seven. Working hours are primarily office-based, 9:00am to 5:30pm; however, one shift per week will be scheduled later to provide visibility and support to employees who work within our onsite hotel, ensuring they have access to HR support. In line with the 24/7 nature of the business, the role requires some weekend work to support some of our fixtures and events.
What we are looking for
We are looking for an organised, proactive HR professional who genuinely enjoys working with people and getting things done. You’ll bring a minimum of 3 years HR experience, solid HR process knowledge, and the confidence to engage and build relationships across all levels of the organisation. You’ll be a strong communicator, highly organised, and comfortable managing a busy and varied workload in a fast-paced environment. You’ll handle confidential information with professionalism and be confident using HR systems and processes across the employee lifecycle - from recruitment through to employee relations. A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or working towards it) would be great, but just as important is your positivity and willingness to get involved across everything HR.
Work Perks
- 2 Annual Members passes giving access to over 1,500 racedays
- Hotel discounts and complimentary golf
- Annual leave starting at 22 days, rising to 28 with service
- Pension & group life assurance schemes
- Healthshield including 24/7 GP access & EAP
- Funded training & development opportunities and plenty more!
